We collect as little as possible. Talabwa has no ads and no third-party trackers, and never stores raw IP addresses in its analytics.
1 What merchants share with us
Account data: store name, WhatsApp/phone number, optional email, and your password (stored only as a secure hash).
Store content: logo, cover, bio, notes, social links, products, photos, categories and options that you publish.
2 Customers and orders
Customers do not need an account. The cart is stored only in the customer’s browser.
When a customer sends an order, the name, area/address and notes they type, together with the items and total, are saved in the merchant’s order log so the merchant can match it with the WhatsApp message.
3 Anonymous statistics
We count store visits, product views and order clicks as daily totals. To count unique visitors we use a daily anonymous code made from a one-way hash of the IP address, browser, date and a secret key. Raw IP addresses are never stored in analytics, and these codes are deleted every day. Bots are ignored.
4 Cookies
We use only two cookies: a session cookie that keeps you logged in and protects forms, and a language cookie that remembers your chosen language. No advertising or tracking cookies.
5 How data is used and shared
Data is used only to run the service: showing stores, saving orders, statistics for merchants, and account security. We do not sell personal data.
When a customer taps “Order via WhatsApp”, the message is sent through WhatsApp, which has its own privacy policy.
6 Retention and deletion
Store data is kept while the store exists. When a store is deleted, its products, orders and uploaded images are deleted too. Merchants can ask the platform team to delete their store at any time.
7 Security and contact
We use secure password hashing, protected forms and limited access to personal data. For any privacy question or request, contact the platform team.
